Philly Cheese Bison Burger

Patties Ingredients

1 lb lean ground bisonphilly cheese burger
2 tbsp fresh minced onions
1 tbsp fresh minced garlic
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Dash of Sea Salt
1 tbsp fresh ground cracked black pepper
Coconut oil spray

Patties Directions

1. Mix the ground bison, garlic, onion and Worcestershire sauce together; form into 3 patties
2. Dust both sides with cracked sea salt & black pepper
3. Spray both sides lightly with coconut oil spray

Topping Ingredients

1 tbsp garlic olive oil
1 green bell peppers, sliced
1 red bell peppers, sliced
1 medium onion, sliced
4 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
1 tsp raw honey or agave
1 tsp red chili flakes

Topping Directions

1. Heat the oil over medium-high heat
2. Sauté the bell peppers, chili flakes and honey for 10 minutes until the veggies are al dente but caramelized slightly
Preparation
3 whole grain sandwich thins (or gluten free or sprouted grain bread)
6 slices of organic 2% fresh mozzarella, sliced into ½” slices
1. Lightly grill the buns
2. Spread the veggie mix evenly over each burger patty and then top with cheese
3. Place the burger patties on an oven safe dish and place under the broiler for 1-2 minutes until the cheese melts; watch them, they will cook quickly
4. Place the burger on the bun; use mustard if you like mustard, avoid the ketchup.
**Oven baked sweet potato fries make a great side dish to this masterful burger.
